West Vancouver, British Columbia has much to offer residents. It is situated on the vast English Bay overlooking the passage out to the Strait of Georgia. Even though Captain George Vancouver came to the area in 1792, most modern homes in West Vancouver are far more recent. The area is well known for its mountain skiing, with the gorgeous Mount Seymour, Grouse Mountain and Cypress Mountains at the north of the city. There are plenty of cultural and educational opportunities as well. In town, residents and visitors can enjoy the many art galleries, libraries, theaters and museums. Outdoor fun isnât limited to skiing or boating in West Vancouver. The city has an ice rink, basketball and tennis courts, a golf course, skateboard and public parks. The mountain trails that line the northern border of West Vancouver are great biking and hiking trails.
