The River Bend of Alma. Pristine towns in Quebec offer interest to those in Canada. Alma is a smaller town that invites those who enjoy leisurely living and the pristine, natural surroundings. The area was first formed in 1962, making it a newer town for living in Quebec. However, the formation arose because of four neighbouring settlements that combined to create unifying efforts in the town.

Alma is on the coast of Lac Saint John, allowing it to open into both fresh and ocean waters of Canada. It also is cradled in the river bend of the Saguenay River, giving it unique combinations of water that maneuver through the town. These two settings offer pristine, natural settings in the area, while allowing the developments of each neighborhood to continue to enjoy the backdrop of their community. Agricultural and use of the land are commonly used for the lifestyle in the area.

While Alma is known for it's newer incorporation, the surrounding neighborhoods have a rich history. Many historical buildings, older churches and central areas are still a highlight to those in the region. Some neighborhoods also continue with the development of the original settlements, such as logging and trade that was created through Quebec. Mills as well as plants are still active with the trade while a setting of a hydro-electrical dam remains a central space of interest.

Highlighted by the river and coast of Quebec, Alma provides a quaint and serene setting for residents. The combined neighborhoods have recently ventured from the older establishments of industry into one of newer incorporations. This is allowing the area to discover a combination of older economics with newer incorporations for community stability.
